You need a standardised colour code to ensure that the colours will appear on the business letters or cards just as they do on your screen. The Pantone Matching System (PMS) is a standardised colour-adjustment system. It contains special colours that can't be created with standard 4-colour printing and assigns a unique name, represented as a number. This number ensures that there are no deviations from your corporate identity colours.
